Union Cemetery is considered one of the most haunted cemeteries in Connecticut. It dates back to the 1600's and is known for its sightings of an apparition of the "White Lady" with long dark hair who has been seen roaming the area along rt. 59 or 111. She has been seen by many, including police and firemen over the years. Some have even claimed to have hit her with their vehicles. It is believed that she walks about 10 miles between the Union and Stepney Cemeteries. There have been claims of people seeing red eyes in the cemetery also. Ed and Lorraine Warren wrote about Union Cemetery in one of their books, "Graveyard."
